How do I tell my parents I have Trichotillomania?

i’ve been pulling out my lashes for the past 5 to 6 years, i am now in 8th grade, and i want to stop. i have to wear alot of eyeliner to hide my eyes, but anytime i look at other ppl eyeslashes i think of myself as useless, i really want to stop its just to hard, me and my mom have a strong relashionship, and she say i can tell her anything. i really want to get help to stop, but im just so scared to come out and tell her, and how to tell her, some one please help.. all i want is to be self confident, and be able to wear make up and look natural..

Telling your mom is a good thing…and that should get you closer to being happy and stuff but if you keep it all inside then it isn’t good for you..only makes you sadder..and that doesn’t enable you to get any help.Just come out with it.I know it is hard to,but just hope that she will understand..you said you guys have a strong relationship..so just picture it as one of your nice talks you have…and you guys can maybe work this problem out together and make plans to get help for you.Good Luck..

You Should Trust Your Mom. She’s Been Through Alot Harder Things. It’s Better To Tell Her Now Insted Of Waiting For Something Bad To Happen Later On In Life. Have Confidence In Yourself When You Tell Your Mom And Shell Get You The Help You Need

Answer #6

Telling ur mom is the best decision in this situation. Not only will ur mother not judge yu, but she will stay with yu through the whole process and will make sure yu get the best help to over come this. Ur mom is ur best friend and she should always be, have more confidence in her and trust her more then yu do now. Ur mom is suppose to support with love no matter what :)
