Parents Hating Fiance

I have been dating my fiance for 7 years, and were set to marry in May. However, everything blew up when it came out the he had a drug problem. A problem I denied to my self He has since went to rehab and is doing well. We have postponed our wedding, but my family refuses to believe that going to rehab could change a person. My mom refuses to go to my wedding if I marry him. I live in a very small town and people love to talk , making things so much worse than they really are. What can I do?

Try and talk to your parents and family about the issue and perhaps have him talk to them as well. If the two of you can set an example for honest and open dialogue with your family about the touchy issues perhaps they can start to listen?
