What organization should I do my research on?

How about a human rights group. Like the groups that are trying to abolish all those Child Labour factories. A paper on that could make people aware of it a lot more and it is a great subject to learn about!

That’s an incredibly broad spectrum. You could focus on healthcare organizations, religous organizations, business organizations, political organizations, animal organizations…you could pick anything. My suggestion? Focus on an organization that interests you,. There are thousands of organizations out there that make a social impact, so it would be hard to choose. I’d pick a category that interests me, then look into some bigger organizations within that category. For example, if animals interest you, you could write about PETA, the World Wildlife Foundation, etc. It just depoends on what you like the best.

If you want to truly research an Organization that is doing great things around the world look into what Scientology is doing. Go to Scientology.org. Especially their related organizations: Volunteer Ministers, Criminon, Narconan, CCHR, The Way to Happiness. They are all over the world helping. While at it see what their VM’s are doing in Japan with the tsunami aftermath.

If you’re still interested in teaching preschoolers, you could do it on one of the professional associations of preschool teachers (easy enough to find on the web). Or, for something a little more issue-oriented, on the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood.

I’m all for human rights but abolishing child labor does nothing except exacerbate the problem of poverty in poor countries. Child labor should not be abolished (yet). Yes it’s really, really horrible but things will get even worse for these families without the extra income. Just thought I should put that in.

i would suggest something cancer related, or i know you are in child development, why not something like i think it is called Play60, i know the NFL is huge with that, it encourages kids and develops like playgrounds for kids to get outside and at least play for an hour.

One does not have to be a Scientologist to be a part of any of the groups the Church has. The important thing is be a part of something that you believe in and work towards it’s goals, as long as it is for greater good of all mankind.

There could be no greater reward then to help others. Mostly to help them help themselves. That is what all those groups I mentioned do. If you look into any other groups they help but don’t know how to help others help themselves.

When available I work with the Volunteer Ministers. They show people how to to over come stress and trauma do to what they are doing in life, and what disaster has happened around them. Most people don’t know how to handle major calamities of nature, and the VM’s help in that, as well as, offer a booklet on how to handle stress and trauma, and then therefore help others and teach them to do so.

It’s very rewarding to see someone who is trauma out by life or a calamity and suddenly feel good again. Plus, knowing that they can do something about it. That is their motto, “SOMETHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT.”
