What are your opinions on the recent sale of breast milk in covent garden?

They’re not selling it, it’s being donated. Personally I think if they are going to donate breast milk they should donate it to a better cause such as to helping premature babies.

i dont particarly agree with it. there are actually babies whos mothers cant produce breast milk, they buy it from donors instaed, and very few poeple know about this or sell their milk. i think it would be better to give or sell it those those babies who need it, rather than use it for drinking, though really there isnt anything wong with it since we drink animal milk, but it it pretty wierd

When you get down to it drinking any sort of milk into adulthood is weird. It is also weird to drink the milk from another species. I remember hearing someone telling me they thought drinking goat’s milk was weird. Weirder than drinking cow’s milk? How about dog milk? Sound good? Human milk is only 1% protein while cow’s milk is 4% protein. Dog milk is 13% protein. Why aren’t body builders storming every GNC and Vitamin Shoppe demanding big frothy glasses of dog milk? It is because we instinctively know drinking the milk from other species IS weird but somehow we are so used to drinking it from cows it now seems normal.

As I understand it, in addition to preemies some cancer patients benefit greatly from consuming breast milk. Healthy women who are done breastfeeding should consider pumping milk for a while to help those who need it.
