1-Always use a quality razor blade (no cheap stuff, invest in the good razor blades and change them often so they are nice ans sharp ex.: gillette) Bad razor blades can irritate your skin. 2-What soap are you using to shave? Use the most hydrating, soft and natural soap you can find. Your rashes can be caused by an allergic reaction to the soap or from dehydrating or chemical substances used in soap (avoid perfumed soap). 3-How have you been treating your skin? Hydrate your skin often with the use of cream (once again, find the most hydrating and natural unperfumed kind). Hydrate your skin right after shaving since soap dries and dehydrates it (causing rashes). Use it often, even once a day, it can do miracles. 4-If all else fails, you can try professional waxing which should not burn your skin (go to a waxing salon). You can also try a machines like epilady which rip the hair out with coils (be warned that it takes time to get used too and you should shave once before the first use in order to have only short hairs to pull out the first time, after that you should be using it about once every two days to take out unwanted hair). Of course with these types of methods comes the problem of ingrown hairs which is another ball game! Good luck!

If you are shaving “down there” make sure you use an after shave product which is specifically designed for those places. I like using Venereous Mountain Mist by Newfbrand.com - it works really well. The Aloe and Hamamelis cool down the skin and keeps the razor burn down.

When you shave, regardless of which part of the body it is that you’re shaving, always use very warm water to warm the skin up. This cuts down on ingrown hairs as well as razor burn (rash). Me? I use regular bar soap, but that’s because my skin is like leather and I don’t often get razor burn. Most experts say to use a shaving gel rather than soap or shaving foam. Also, use a decent razor. I find the more expensive razors do a nicer job. Shick Quatro for example. Never use the $1.29 Gillette razors. They’re awful on the skin and the sharpness goes away after a couple of uses.
