Oh my gosh I am so sorry (9/11)

My dad died in 9/11 when I was 6 years old. 4 days later I turned 7, when people find out that my dad died they say oh my gosh I am so sorry… I have looked for answer’s all this time now but I still don’t know what to say after they say omg, I mean I cant say its ok cause well ITS NOT and it feels weird to say thank you because it doesn’t make sense, what do I say???

Say, “So am I…” and just put a pause there. They will get an honest concern then.

I would not look away , makes people uncomfotable. I would say what beautiful said. It is really sad and that whole day changed the lives of many people. I am sure that when these people say this to you, they really mean it. It was something that should have never happened. I hope you can or did find peace in your heart with what happened to you.

just kinda smile and look down like dont really give in answer or just like say “yea..” and look away thats what I do
