It depends on how much you weigh. The most you should do is eat in praportion. you can still eat fats just eat small ammounts. You should drink lots of water. walk, maybe after walking jogging.
If you are talking 20, 30, 40 lbs or so, then diet and exercise - maybe 1500 cal a day with activity. Expect to feel hungry. If you are talking life endangering obesity, you need to see a doctor for an evaluation. Probably a good idea anyway. I know that my son’s ex was in the ‘lose the weight or die’ category and had to undergo a gastric bypass. Not the safest thing, but much safer than her weight.
