is it normal for me not to remember my first day of school?

but everyone i know remembers their first day. maybe it didnt matter? :\

Yes, it’s normal. If nothing extreme happened on your first day of school, you will most likely forget it- even though it was a ‘big’ event, being your first day of school. You will find as you get older that you start forgetting things that once upon a time seemed like a huge deal- that you’d never forget it. It’s just your mind making space, clearing things it doesn’t need to remember.

its completely normal…. espicially if u went to the school before (like a previous year ) or you just have your friends to support you… every year all i remeber is tat freshmen get lost and have no idea what to do…. besides that my mind goes blank when i think of the topic

Sure it’s normal. I don’t remember what happened on my last birthday or the year before that cause nothing happened. So I’d say it’s normal

We use less then 1% of are brain so I’m not sure ow accurate your explanation on why we forget things is (the making space part).

It’s not so much ‘making space’, more of a clearing of memories that we don’t need to remember, so that new memories can be kept alive. If we remembered everything- we wouldn’t be able to function on a daily basis.

Meaby you had fun, meaby it was to crazy to remember, I can remember, just because it was freshman year and the day was special just for freshman. But when you are used to going to school and you have your firends then it’s just like onother day.
