Could she be acting this way because we are starting high school?

Hey guys. My girlfriend of a year and a half just broke up with me on tuesday. She said she doesnt care about me as much as when we started dating, and she said she cares about me as a friend. We have always been so close, and all of a sudden she said she “changed”. Could it be cause we are starting highschool next week and she doesnt want to be tied on? Please help anyone. Im falling apart here, and I just need some advice. Thanks.

its posiible that she wants to keep her options open as there will be lots of boys at highschool and maybe shes wants to see what else is out there if thats the case it was a pretty mean thing to do but really only she knows why she broke up with you so the best thing to do is to ask her why an ask her to be honest

honestly I dont know what caused her to suddenly change and break up with you, maybe she has been feeling this way for a while and decided to tell you just now. but it is a possibility that your started highschool and she wants a fresh start. im really sorry that she broke up with you after so long, but this can be a good opportunity for you as well. I know its hard but go to school and meet new people and have fun!

Yeah : / When I started highschool…I wanted to keep my options open. My boyfriend was acting really clingy like we were “committed” or something, and I didn’t want that. So, I dumped him. But I doubt you were clingy; so let’s just go with, she was curious about the other boys (there’s so many), and wanted to keep her options open. Sorry to hear :[
