Need help writing a properemail to a high school admission director
So I’m in 8th grade, I took a citywide selective enrollment test. There were about 12,500 applicants and only about 3000 get accepted. The points is out of 1000. So I hope she (admission director) takes pity on me. My parents and I want to make an appointment with either the admission director or a principal/asst. Principal. I would try to bring recommendations letters fro my teachers, grades, and maybe a paper of my strengths and weakness. So how can I start proprly and end properly so she might consider it… Please help Most of my friends say I’m smart enough to go to that school and, well I did not get in. Here are my scores of the entrance exam: Selective enrollment entrance exam national percentile rankings (these scores are not percentages. For example the score is 75%. The person did better than 75% of students) Vocabulary=83 reading=59 (lowest os all of mine) mathematics=99 ( my favorite subjects) language=64 total=-83 (not average?)
I got 854 points out of 1000. So I got perfect attendance all a’s except for one b.and a national test (like act/sat) I got 86 and 77 percentile.
Thank you for your help, my future is depending on it.
I’m honestly not sure there’s a lot you can do at this point. Just be as polite and professional as possible, addressing as sir or ma’am whenever you address, but if they don’t want you, pity or all the fires of hell will probably not change their minds. Sometimes, it’s not how smart you are, it’s how much you have to offer otherwise. You could be the smartest person on earth, but if you can’t offer them much as an alumnus, they still may not take you. They have to know that you’ll give back to the school. Good luck, but I don’t think you should expect much.
