as many people hear have said..history will and most repeat itself when a lesson isnt learned..all we cando is hope hope it wont be a huge scale event and it wont be as destructive..and maybe even hope it happens when our genreation is gone so we wont have to put up with all that (go me and my awsome brain im 13 FTW!) :D 1hope this helps CTV, aka cheyanne .t. v.

Answer #2

I hope that we have all learned enough to prevent that. Its unlikely but right now genocide is happening in Africa.

I am sorry but your not going to like what I’m going to say…We are going to go through something worse then the Holocaust not saying that to be mean…But we are in so much dept that there is no way we are getting out of it…We(Government/FEDS) created a financial bubble which has already popped and now we are in a recession which is going to turn in to a depression(Which could be worse then the Great Depression)…May bot happen now but it’s going to happen soon or later.

Yes, the Economy is going to be getting worse believe it or not we are heading for a depression, what you need to do is save what money you have and go buy things you will need…Better to be prepared then not. So if you go and buy a lot of can foods and rice etc you will be okay I believe we are going to go in a full on crash and most people won’t see it coming.

Hope this answered you question =)

Answer #4

Genocides are happening today, so sure, they’ll continue in the future.

Answer #5

Yes it will, it is still happening in different ways, you think that the German holocaust was the last time it happened? Ethnic genocides have been happening since then, just not in such a grand scale…

Answer #6

im my literature and english class we just finished up on teh Holocaust

I feel sooo terrible for the millions who died. this wasnt right. it should have nv happened.

Tho like ichibanarky said.. history repeats itself if a lessoned isnt learned. I would hope that we have learned so nothin as terrible as the Hollocuast would happen again. But then look as were going into another depression. apperently we didnt learn from the 1st.

so I guess it is POSSIBLE. but hope it will nv ever happen again

It’s said that history repeats itself, and that it does if lessons aren’t learned.

Hopefully, we’ve learned from it enough to prevent it ever happening again, but time will tell.

That all depends what you consider “like the Holocaust”. Quantifiably (number of lives lost) there have been incidents that approached the casualites in the Holocaust. Consider, for example, the Ukranian famines and the famines in China due to Mao’s Great Leap Foreward (debatable Genocides)where over ten million civilian lives were lost in each case, then yes incidents like the Holocaust have happened since.

However many consider the Holocaust to be a singular event. Although not outside the realm of possibility the Holocaust was the result of an initially legitmate political part taking control of a, for lack of better words, very cultured and developed country. The Holocaust was, simply put, orchestrated by men in suits; a bureaucratic affair. While Rwanda was the result of a civil war (from Colonialist strife) the only infighting in Germany was between the established political powers and a new and rising party. Although not entirely equatable, Germany’s stance in Europe (by te approach of 1939) was a Superpower like France of England (it’s hard to imagine either of those countries being responsible for the Holocaust).

Looking at incidents that have happened since you see that the countries they have taken in place in (Cambodia, Rwanda, Sudan, Bosnia) are (for the most part) second or third world countries, often suffering from civil war and conflict from past Colonial intrusions. While images of men in trucks gunning down people in the streets are often associated with these Genocides, the Nazi party tried very hard to maintain a semblance of legitimacy. The Holocaust was carefully planned and on such a grand scale that the powers in, Camodia for instance, or even in Darfur would never be able to reach. The Holocaust was the product of a Government endorsed plan in a first-world nation which could never be implemented in Sudan in almost the same way that the autobahn or Berlin wall could never be built in Sudan; entirely different situations.

Germany, very basically, had the means to put in place such a far-reaching operation. It had the territorial control, the political leverage and the resources to do it. No other country has approached that level of unity in terms of a Genocidal goal. It seems impossible to fathom that the U.S or France or Britain or even modern-day Germany would ever commit such meticulous atrocities.

Of course there are many other Genocidal crimes being committed in the world which, without action, have the potential to cost many lives. This is just something to consider and there are many who would disagree with the Holocaust being a singular event.

It may do. Think of the nutjobs like Osama bin Laden and Idi Amin, and as most others said, history will probably repeat itself. (p.s did you see the black death repeated, or the Battle of Hastings?!?!) <8-l]
