Do your nails grow slower if you have fake nails glued on?

even the kind you just buy at the store? i dont mean the kind you get done at the salon where they file your nails down

When I had those, my nails grew faster with them on but when I took them off, my nails grew back slowly.

lol well my nails grow really fast when i dont bite them so i was going to use these to let them grow

No they don’t. Mine grew pretty fast but they become very weak. The fake nail glue contains chemicals that damage your real nail and that causes them to become weak and chip. The fastest way to take them off is to purchase a acrylic nail removal soak. It’s got liquid inside with a cushion & you just shove your fingers in and it melts the fake nail off.

As far as I am aware there is no evidence that gluing fake nails on reduces the speed of growth of the natural nail. I would welcome any link that provides evidence to the contrary. .

they grow faster but they get very soft …. and a way to take fake nails off is by putting your fingers into hot or warm water for a while so they come off less painfully =D but chances are that when you are taking your fake nails off .. your real nails will break off with them since they’re so soft c(=

When I have fake nails on, my nails always grow faster.
