My Son thinks there is a monster in the potty

Does any one have anyhting that I can try. I’ve tried everything. I even tried to kill the poop monster. I will sit in there with him and he still won’t poop on the potty. I’ve rewarded him several times when he sits on it. But he will no poop on the potty. I took him night time underwear away from him so that he has to poop on the potty, but he just holds it. He will pee on the potty he just won’t poop. I even tried mineral oil becuase someone else suggested it. (I need Help Fast)

Any suggestion will help! Thanks-

I read this online, it may help: -get some stickers or stamps and a wall calender -hang the calender in his room -whenever he poops in the potty he gets a sticker on the calender -whenever he poops on the potty it is the most important poop in the history of mankind. make a huge deal out of it. -talk about how proud you are of his calender because of the stickers. whenever family or friends come over show it off with pride.

-OR-

“A friend suggested to me to put my 3 1/2 year old in the bathroom and have him take off his pants. Tell him the doctor wants him to poop on the potty and I will be waiting outside–call me when you are done. Then just turn and walk out–wait outside the door. Don’t make a big deal out of it when he goes. It worked. This is after 1 year of trying.”

I’d say either get him a kids potty, or buy a bad of little treats, it doesn’t have to be candy, just something that he doesn’t get that often and tell him that for every time that he poops on the potty he gets a treat, but don’t worry too much, most people have more problems potty training boys than girls.

Dear ebdmama, Never give a child mineral oil or anything such as this unless prescribed by a doctor. This can be an easy fix…take your son with you and buy a new potty, also buy some glitter. When you get home you put the new potty down and sprinkle the glitter and you tell him it is poop monster dust and it kills them. Continue to reward each and every time he uses it. Sue…good luck

im 15 and when I was small I was scared of there being an eel in the toliet and was going to bite me. you should reassure him there isnt a monster and show him that you go to the bathroom too hope it helps :)

Answer #5

its not good to hold your poop in, my neice is 2 and it hurt her to go, so she was afraid to go and she hald it in for a while and never went, and she got really sick and was throwing up. I think you just need to trick him into believing that the “poop monster” is gone for good, and just help him to understand that theres nothing there.just tell him that it ran away, or went to someone else’s toilet

Answer #6

let him sit on an old kitchen pot.And 0nly let him sit as s00n as he starts the push acti0n,he is pr0bably afraid 0f the depth level in the toilet.and maybe get a p0tty that fits 0n the t0ilet seat.
