My skin is really sensitive

I just discovered the joys of cooking but it appears that my skin is really sensitive to heat. Is this something I’ll get used to or learn to tolerate? My friend is a chef and her palms are really hard and callousy, does that help her tolerate the heat?

my skin is the same way I cant really stir like pasta for very long cause it starts to burn but I just wear a hoody or long sleeve shirt when I cook so that I can cover most of my hand just becareful that your sleeves dont get inot the flame or the food lol

my skin is the same for coldness. my suggestion is to wear gloves while cooking and a lond shirt (nothing baggy, though). my skin is ok with heat, but I do this just because I’m afraid of grease popping on me (for a second time). something you can try: The Ove Glove. it’s supposed to work excellently. look for it with the As Seen on TV items in Wal-Mart or a drugstore.
