Answer #1

It is dangerous to pick up a newborn pup at all until they are a few weeks old. They are very young and can be easily injured by small jostling movements. If you must, hold them very delicately and scoop up from the sides until you are cupping the puppy.

yes and it depends on how many she has and you must not pet them untill they are atleast 5 to 6 weeks

she will bleed for sometime, maybe even a up to 8 weeks, her body just went through a big deal. You can handle the puppies, I reccomend handling them so they get use to people. I hope your female would allow this, you are the owner. and I would not breed a dog that was aggresive, HOwever I would not let and neither will she, strangers near the puppies or a bunch of people, there immuntiy is not strong yet and you don’t want people bringing in any viruses they can pick up and die from. Make sure they see a vet for there first round of vaccines and I sure hope the mother is up to date on her vaccines so she can pass on the immunitiy to her babies.

I dont know how your pit bull is but before touching her puppies continue to tell her she did a good job and she has beautiful babies reassure her that you would not hurt her babies. There is always blood after giving birth but if you think it is too much call a local vet and ask you dont want her to have an internal problem and bleed to death congrats and good luck with those new babies

Answer #5

yes it is normal. and if you have a trusting relationship with your momma dog you can hold her puppies as much as you want! it is not easy to hurt them the mom will end up stepping an layin on em all the time. my dog has four week old pups that i helped her deliver and have been holding every day. the first three weeks is most important for socializing pitbulls!!
