Piercings are generally a personal preferance, but there are a few things to remember. First, piercings, like tattoos, don’t go away. Second, fashions change, and what is cool now is often pathetic later. Third, and this is gross - lip and cheek piercings often dribble when you drink! Nothing so sweet as taking a drink of coke and having the stuff dripping out your lip! Some people I know have tried “temporary jewelery” that is glued in place, or henna tattoos, that come off, before they get a piercing or tattoo. That might be an option, too. That way you can decide if that is what you really want.

Living at home is a lot like being a citizen of these United States. Yes, the health care sucks and the news is filtered and the education is lousy and the life expectancy is god-awful and our military is bloated and our civil rights is a laughingstock, but taken as a whole with a wide-angle lens, life here is generally more good than bad. I’m going to guess that life in your home is much the same way. Sure, there might be a lot of rules that you find arbitrary and restrictive, like rules about putting metal in your face, but if you enjoy the support and affection, not to mention food and warmth, of the home your parents are providing, agreeing to do a few things that you might disagree with isn’t a lot to ask.

You’ll be 18 soon, and then you can do whatever you like to yourself.

Answer #7

umm, do what YOU want. its not really her choice. its yours. its your body. my friend has her nose pierced and she has snakebites. and her mom said no too. its your choice though. Tina

Answer #8

Just Ask her to get it done for your birthday and ask for nothing else,,
