My dogs mated last night

Dogs mated last night. Is there anything I can give my dog so she wouldnt have puppies?

Answer #1

Ideally, if you didn’t want puppies, you should have had your dogs fixed.

There’s not much you can do to “prevent” pregnancy, but you can always go to the vet and have a PGF done…basically it’s an abortion, and I really don’t condone it.

It will be an expensive procedure - it was most likely cheaper just to get your dog fixed in the first place.

Answer #2

There is a “morning after” shot for dogs…Call your Vet, and see if it’s available…while you’re asking, see if your Vet will spay during heat (some won’t do it, some will)…and then you won’t have to worry about it.

Hi,

You can get her spayed. If there are any embryos that are fertilized they will be removed also (not puppies yet). Lots of places offer low-cost spay surgery. Check your local Humane Society or ASPCA.

Answer #4

You can take her to the vet and get it taken care of. Also I understand not getting dog fixed no one can afford to get it done now away. I got a year old male who isnt fixed because cant afford to get it done.

Answer #5

Not being able to afford spay/neuter surgery is ridiculous. The local shelter by me does it for like $30-50. Puppies cost a LOT more than that- - trust me.

Answer #6

We have a spay/neuter clinic that runs here once a month…costs range from $15 - $20 for cats, and $20 to $30 for dogs…all work is done by local Vets who volunteer…Getting just one fixed is far cheaper than looking for alternatives after the fact.

Yes, you can call your vet and make appt, to get her spayed. And then get the male neutered
