My Cocker Spaniel is 52 days pregnant

Hi,

My Cocker Spaniel is 52 days pregnant. She tied on 3/6/08 only one time. Her vulva is swollen more than when she was in heat and her nipples are larger and pink. There is no milk or anything coming out of her nipples yet. She does have a little whitish/greenish discharge coming out of her vulva but not very much. My vet said she could go into labor any where between 48 days to 63 days. She is very thirsty and pants a lot but then again it’s hot today. She is in a well air conditioned home but she is still panting. She is not nesting and she is not digging. Boy is she big and seems to be very uncomfortable. I’ve had litters before but none that appeared to be like this one. Have any of you ever had a litter that was less than 63 days of gestation period? Please give as much details as possible.

Well I had a cat, and she had the green stuff too but only a little and the next day she had kittens, I’ve had litters before, and as you know when they pant they are in labor go to a vet place or maybe a pet store and buy a dog thermomitor and if her temp. is uner 100 then she’s in labor.

I hope I helped even a little

If she isn’t nesting, I wouldn’t worry so much…she’s big, so she may have more pups than normal…having more than normal, would probably make her more uncomfortable…they may be pushing on her diaphram making her pant…If you’ve had a baby…go back in time, and think about how you would have felt if there were 2 or 3 in there…
