Moving kittens.

My cat had four kittens about a month ago. First, we put them in a basket. The mother cat (Who I’ll call by her name, MOO) liked them being in the basket, as long as the basket was in the closet. Well, one day my mom pulled the basket out of the closet but didn’t put it back in. So Moo moved her kittens. Now they’re in a drawer in my dad’s dresser. They’re getting really big and can walk. They REALLY don’t want to stay in that drawer and CAN’T stay there much longer (they’re almost big enough to climb out). They need to be someplace they can walk around.

We want to move the kittens upstairs to my room. It’s the only low traffic place we can put them where they won’t get lost walking around. We let them walk around the living room floor last night and Moo got mad. She tried to take them but we stopped her.

How can we move the kittens without Moo moving them? They really need to be someplace they can walk around.

I suggest getting a large cat bed of some kind and take the kitten’s old bedding upstairs with you. Put their bedding in the cat bed and put the kittens in it. If the mom cat tries to move them, gently putt hem back and close the door.

The mom cat is only trying to move them because she feels insecure about leaving them there out in the open. maybe when she sees that her babies are safe in a calm area, she’ll relax herself. Just keep a eye on her and if she attempts to move them, move them back. after a few times of this she’ll more then likely calm down and stay put.

if you have a closet she can her babies can hide in upstairs, try that. Mom cats are all about safety and security, so try and make her feel as safe, comfortable and calm as possible.

congrats on the kitties btw.
