How to stop male kitten from "humping"?

My male kitten (he will be a year old in September) is fixed, but he will climb on top of my female kitten sometimes. He bites her head so she can’t move, and sits on her. I know his instincts are telling him to hump her, but he doesn’t know how (or have the tools to do it). I’ve read some cats do this, even after being fixed, but it should be discouraged. Anyone else deal with this? How did you discourage your cat from doing it? My female cat doesn’t like it at all.

Answer #1

A quirt gun works well. Squirt him with it whenever he does it. Also the quirt gun works if he is doing something he isn’t supposed to be doing. If not, sometimes giving them a little whck on their head of a gentle tap on the nose works. It depends on the cat..

Answer #2

Water pistol. Since he ain’t actually doing it, then scaring him off won’t harm either of them. Not the greatest way to curb his instincts, but it might send him a message and keep it from happening too often.
