Can I escape my Mom's boyfriend and move in with my Dad?
I am 13 and I’m living with my mom and my mom’s boyfriend (they are engaged). If I want to move in with my dad can I? he is a much better person then my mom’s boyfriend. I have no freedom here my stepdad flips out and hits his own kid.
The only thing I’m afraid of is if I say I want to move out that they’ll freak and stuff will happen. Also my mom’s boyfriend has a drinking problem.
You’re right, you’re not in a healthy family environment….if possible, I’d tell my Dad about the situation and see: 1) if he is able/willing to take you in 2) ask him to handle it discretely from his end (his idea) shielding you from hassles there.
Good Luck and God Bless !!
Assuming that your mom got custody in a divorce or court order your father could be charged with kidnapping if he takes you in.
The family code of every state is a little different. You need to talk to someone knowledgable about your particular laws. It could be that now that you are older that your wishes will be given more consideration in proceedings. Your biological dad may be able to get custody back at this point.
I can’t really take sides here since I’m only hearing one side of the story. Does your future step-dad spank his kids or does he beat them with a baseball bat? I personally don’t believe in spanking but I can’t fault other parents who do. What do you mean by no freedom? Does he set your curfew earlier than you think he should or does he lock you in the basement? Is anything your he does illegal or actionable by the police?
welll…im pretty much in the same situation but I always talk back to him because he is always telling me stuff like your mom loves me more than you and stuff like that but mii my momz dont care so…whatever..
however houve got it better than mesooo I guess give your mom a couple complaints, then contact your dad, and then sooner or later hes gonna get pissed off and take them to court and then u’ll find your self waking up with your dad in the other room!
HOPE THIS HELPS!!! MUCH ♥ -OLIVIA-ANN
