How can I motivate my husband to work out and get in shape? He's too skinny.

I am quite a gym rat and my husband has no interest in any kind of workout or exercise at all. He is way too skinny for a guy and would certainly benefit from joining me at the gym occasionally.

How can I motivate him? Is there a playful way for me to show him that I have developed a lot more strength than him (I’m sure i have). I have also been doing some kickboxing and karate classes which I don’t think he even knows.

Any suggestions on how I can motivate him? I’m not trying to be mean or vain. Maybe pick a play fight and put him in his place playfully?

Answer #1

maybe just ask him if he can join you while u work out that it would be fun cause your doing it together.. but if hes to skinny ummm why not feed him more.. hahaha u make it seem like hes a stick lol but theres no way u can really get him to unless he wants to or maybe make a deal with him like if he does that then you do something that he wants u to?

Answer #2

Lol. He’s not a stick figure, but he is taller than me and weighs a few pounds less (5”8 118)

And yeah, he won’t slit unless he decides for himself that it’s to his benefit. That’s why I thought the play fight would nudge him in the right dire tip , if I win convincingly.

My daughter goes to the gym with me. I was thinking maybe I p.ay arm wrestling with her and then try to get Mike to join in. Not sure if my daughter would win or not if they tried the arm wrestling so I don’t know if they should try. Would it be too embarrassing if she won? For mike I mean. Or do you think that would motivate him?

Sorry. After her and I played it my daughter talked Mike into playing it with her. They were both struggling, but in the end she won with both arms. Hopefully that will motivate Mike. He hasn’t said anything about it so far. But I can’t see how can not be embarrassed that he lost and eager to do so edging to get in shape. She’s 14.
