… she takes all her aggression out on me, why not my brother…whats the differece?

Answer #1

If you’re still living at home…. its possible she unknowingly is considering you competition now that you’re not a child anymore.

Probably she still wants to be able to treat you like her baby, but since you’re not, you two bang heads in a lot of ways — so that’s what I mean by a competition – to see who’s got the stronger will.

This isn’t uncommon really — especially when you’re dealing with two adults. It happens with brothers too, you just got the lucky pick on this one.

i lied about my age, i am really 18. i just recently graduated and she threatens to kick me out everytime we get into an argument. i feel like i am not even her kid anymore. i dont even feel like she ever really loved me. it hurts so much to know your mom doesnt even care about you and wants you gone out of her life as soon as possible.

I seem to know how you feel, my mom hates me too…it has nothing to do with age…sometimes they just have this way of blaming us for their past…more like unfinished business because the way thing wound up…god forbid blame themselves for the mistakes they have made…NOT YOUR FAULT!!! Very important to point that out. it me years of feeling so damn guilty & a few runs to a therapist…still didnt make me see the plain truth. Friends on here actually (they know whom they are I wont put them on the spot!) know that their words had a very strong impact on me, the way i saw the situation & how i was viewing it from a wrong prospective. I kept blaming myself for everything went wrong because my mother kept making it to be forever my fault…and then it waspointed out to me…in one sentence, which was unclear at first, but then when i reread that&thought about it a little…i noticed how right that was… If my mother would have blamed for the oil spill(which we all know wasnt!lol ) and i would just allow her to say it was my fault, then i would be allowing her to abuse me by trying to put the blame on me again when i couldnt even remotely do it…but by saying it & me accepting her blame on me is all the power she needs to hurt me. So, of course I would stand up to her & not allow her to think she could get away with it…would allow her to have the power to hurt me.

You cant allow your mother to constantly put the blame on you…by getting upset & allowing her to have the power to do or say things to hurt you is the wrong approach… You have to stand your ground head to head & say yes you are my mother, yes i need to respect you, but respect is a 2 way street, and as long as you dont respect me, dont expect me to respect you! You hurt me with constantly taking out your aggression on me… i am not your punching bag…fins someone else to harass, if you dont there are consequences…dont think i wont use what ever means necessary to stop you!

Hope that helps… p.s. thanks for all the advice…(you know whom you are! ♥)

Answer #6

thank you for the advice. i do stand up to her, but she will forever and always be right. if she is wrong there is not stoping her for yelling at you and hitting you. i dont know what to do. i would have nowhere else to go if i were kicked out so i have to agree with her when she says that i do everything wrong. all the advice in the world wont stop her from being cruel and mean to me for whatever reason she is.

Answer #7

Idk wat to tell you but my feelings go out to you im very sorry

Answer #8

Sometimes we have to suck it up, and bite our tongues til we can do something about it… Do you have a job? Do you have any relative you can live with? Do you have enough money stashed somewhere or a trust fund where you can tap into that? If the answers are no to all then my dear you just have to wait til you do or can! If you answers are yes…then you need to make the next move…out of her house because you dont have to deal or put up with that sort of behavior!

Think long & hard if it is that unbearable…if so there are ways to deal with anything, you just have to ask for the right help!

if you need any more help feel free to funmail me! take care…
