Why is my microsoft word not working?
it pops up a window when I open it and says to enter my product key. it says it isnt required at the time. when I click cancel it doesnt let me type or click anything. Help?
Seems like you have a trial version and the trial time period has run out!
What does this mean for you? You have to go and buy Microsoft Office if you want to keep using it. Or, alternatively you can use Java’s openoffice which is free and is pretty close to Microsoft word.
You can also using Google Docs, it has all the same features as Microsoft word and all you need to do to acess it is a google account and internet.

I’m pretty sure my dad bought it. We’ve had my computer for years but for some reason I can’t get it to work. I guess I’ll try google docs. Thanks!
If he bought it, did he download it or did he buy it from a box at Staples or something? Usually, it comes with a code and this would be something you might want to get out of the way. If anything, you can always contact Microsoft if you feel it’s a problem, glad I helped :P
that happened to me. it started to come on, but then froze and crashed my computer , try downloading [link removed] its much better. :)
