Math problem please help!!

Hey. So I have to do this math packet and if you are going into high school then you should already know how to do the elimination method so can anyone help me with this problem. Thanks. 4x+2y=11 3x-2y=-3

Answer #1

first add , the first e to the second

7x = 14 —> x = 2

then choose any equation and replace the value 2 with x on the equation you choose for example … 4*2 +2y =11 —> 8+2y=11 —> 2y=11-8

y= 3/2

it is correct but I hope it is very clear ,

Answer #2

solve for y, (obviously in terms of x), in the first equation. then put this in for why in the second equation, and you should be able to find x.

You should get, y = (11 - 4x)/(2)

now, –> 3x - 2((11 - 4x)/(2)) = -3

solving for x, you get x = (8/7)

use this to find y, you get y = (45/14)

Hope this helps

Answer #3

I agree with username:momo91.

Answer #4

Add the two equations: 4X+2Y=11 3X-2Y=-3

7X=8 X=8/7 or 1.429

Sub back one equation: 4(1.429)+2Y=11 2Y=11-4.571 Y=3.215 All approx. values for X and Y

Answer #5

Add the two equations: 4X+2Y=11 3X-2Y=-3

7X=8, X=8/7 or 1.429 Sub back one equation: 4(1.429)+2Y=11 2Y=11-5.716, Y=2.642, All approx. values for X and Y

Answer #6

just use a better calculator than mine.
