how far can you make a call from your area until its long distance??
In California; Sacramento and Elk Grove (2 different cities) have the same area code. But still get charged as long distance. There is a mile range also. I believe it is something like 25 miles out of the location you are calling from, Makes it long distance.
Generally, if you’re using a land line, calling a telephone number in an area code that is different from the one in which the call is originating will incur long-distance charges, even if the phones are located in houses 15 feet apart.
yurp. it depends on the company. when local area changes than it becomes long distance
