Are there any positives to living with your parents at 19?

what if you want to go to college in another town and you want to live on your own but your parents think you are not going to be able to live on your own? such as they don’t think you will spend money wisely or they think you will forget something important like hygine or anything. and tell me if living with your parents at age 19 is uncool but if you can also tell me the positives about living with your parents at age 19 I mean what is the ultimate limit you can live with your parents and still be cool?

hm, right, look see. I’m nearly 19, I still live with my parents. well, my mom, then my dad, I stay in the city with my mom then go into the country to my dads for a few weeks or so, and it’s NOT un cool, I love been at home still, im house hunting atm but only because after been with my boyfriend 5 years we do want to move intogether, but my mom still makes me a sandwich for when I go to uni, asks me if I was supper, if I have enough money etc, it’s not babyish, there the people who brought me into the world and kept me alive is how I see it, fed me clothed me everything, I go out with my mom sometimes, shes my bestfriend, your parents just have your best interests at heart, they can’t stop you moving out, your old enough, or maybe your parents think you won’t spend money wisely for a reason, such as you squander your money on stuff you don’t need? they have to pick up after you and wake you up in a morning still? I duno, either way, it’s not a trend.

You have a lifetime ahead of you that will be filled with babies, diapers, husbands, lol, grocery shopping, cooking, laundry… budgetting, yard work, renegotiating mortgages, paying off credit cards, taking cars to the mechanic, children to the vet, (when you forget who’s going where, lol)

So stay at home while you can and enjoy those home cooked meals and the company of your parents, just a little bit longer.

I don’t think that will take away your coolness :)

I loved living at home. I guess when you move out you forget how much easier it was to live with the parents. I definitely think moving out is a big responsibility but you should sit down and talk to your parents about how you’re going to manage things when you live alone, as well as how you’re going to show them that you are responsible. Living at home is always cool, I don’t know why it wouldn’t be. But I think that 19 is a good time to experience living alone. If you’re going to live at home, at least get a job so you can be more independent.

my sister said the same exact thing–that she could move out and make it on her own no problem. My parents let her go and didnt helpp her at all. She ended up living pay check to pay check eating cheap spartan mac and cheese (because she couldnt afford anything else) and gaining a whole bunch of weight.–she moved back home and my parens help her with car troubles and her bills and shes going to school FULL TIME instead of part time. She’s a lot happier (and shes 20 years old) its not lame at all. BE SMART STAY HOME
