What are some things that you got the most use out of or was a lifesavor when your children (or brothers and sisters) were born?

After having my son we realized we didnt use half of the things we had bought. Im trying to not overbuy this time. The things that were life savors and got the most use that i can remember so far are his pack n play, shopping cart/highchair cover, and the baby swing.

With my son the baby swing was a huge help and when he got a bit older his jolly jumper. He would jump in his jolly jump for hours, he loved it! And I loved it cause I was able to get stuff done!I also found a papoose very helpful. It allowed me to carry him around as a baby and have hands free.

For me and my sister it was a ‘jolly jumper’ those things that you attach to a doorway, and sit the baby in it (baby has to be about 6+ months), they boing up and down and they LOVE it. It’s great to sit baby in it and be able to do some housework without having to watch baby all of the time.

I’ve heard of people saving their baby’s cord blood so it can be used at a later time if they’re ever very sick or get cancer. That’s probably a great idea. When I watch my neighbor’s daughter, Camila one of the things that really helps me is a stroller. She loves walks. If she’s throwing a fit or something i’ll just say, “Want to go for a walkie?” I know I probably shouldnt reward her for being bad, but it’s easier that way. If i’m lucky she’ll pass out on the way back. Chalk and crayons also help me out with her. She loves Stewart Little too, so to keep her busy I’ll ask if she wants to watch “the mouse movie”.
