What should my levels be for cholesterol LDL HDL and trygelcride?

Typical recommendations are:

Total cholesterol below 200 LDL below 130 HDL above 60 Triglycerides below 150

There are advantages to getting total cholesterol and triglycerides even lower. Heart disease is much lower among people who’s total cholesterol is below 150 but doctors do not suggest this because they consider it to be unattainable by most people. HDL is usually below 60 among those with total cholesterol below 150 but so long as the ratio between LDL and HDL is healthy this shouldn’t be a problem. below 200 is considered a more realistic goal.
