Answer #1

According to the Bible, a Christian at death: ‘to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord’…Hope this helps !!

Answer #2

After death there is no time

Answer #3

I think that instead of believing ignorance we should be thankful for what we have and be willing to learn more. And what when we evolved, did this creator say. Oh. I need to teach these entities moral lessons. No, I think it was all just humans trying to better their society, and makeing up things once they were able to ponder outside their immediate functions.

Answer #4

Me again, new account. I HAVE 2. YAY MEEE!!! just to let you know, I don’t believe in anything but I want to be buddist. love and peace. this is strange.

Answer #5

Yes britz, many people have done horrible things in the name of Christianity (and pretty much every other religion as well, I dont’ know about hinduism or budhism). It is very tragic when these demented people have misinterpreted their purpose and they are not mentally stable so they believe that their God actually WANTS them to kill someone. One of the Ten Commandments says “Thou Shalt Not Kill”. So it’s clear as day that your not suppossed to do that but some people twist the words around to fit their own agenda, sad. And I’m all for freedom of religion, but just remember, people of the Wicca religion have done some terrible things, too (there are a number of murder cases that are allegedly related to the practice of wicca). But that doesn’t mean that they’re all bad or that the religion itself is Evil. My main concern for you (and I don’t by any means think you are stupid but this could happen to anybody), is that the same thing that happened to this guy I saw on a documentary type of program that was on the History Channel or something. He thought witchcraft was kinda cool (kinda like you) so he started to dabble around and read some books. Well, he got educated all by his self to the point he thought he knew what he was doing and he decided to try conjuring a spirit for fun. This turned out to be a major mistake because that spirit was evil and it followed him around for years and he finally had to get ahold of some REAL warlocks and witches to cast some spells to get rid of the evil spirit. He said that his life was a living Hell because of what he did. So, my advice if you are going to be involved with witchcraft is to get involved with other, experienced witches and learn from them so you don’t end up doing something you regret. People can say what they want about witchcraft and whether its real or all in your head, but the spirit world is NOT something you want to just play around with, it’s serious $#!+, man!

And some Christians I guess ask God for guidance or something sometimes but it's not necessary to consult with Him for your decisions. I think when people are asking Him for help, they are just kind of thinking deeply to come up with the best decision to make and they might just not believe that they have the mental capacity to make a tough decision on their own, BUT, if they tell themselves that they are "asking God to help them" I think that just allows them to relax their minds and not be all stressed out, which, in turn, allows them to think more effectively. So maybe it's not really God at all, they really did it all on their own but they couldn't have made that decision without relaxing their mind and thinking that God was just going to take care of it for them. So, you see, even if there isn't a God (or at least not the God most people think there is), there are a lot of benefits to living your life as if there IS one... There is a certain peace of mind you get by believing in God that can allow your stress level to be reduced and allow you to accomplish things you may not have been able to if you believed that you were "all on your own" in life. This may be true for some and not for others, just something to think about.

No, rabbit, nobody really knows but we can just speculate based on what we DO know and what we believe in (religiously). We don’t know who is actually right, we won’t know until we die, and that is not even guaranteed since it’s possibility (I suppose) that we just blink out like a light and simply stop existing. So then it would be impossible to know anything… What we do know, moonshine, is that, as britz (hi britz nice to see you again) was saying, humans have only been on this planet for about 6000 years. And actually dinosaurs weren’t around either, the first ones known were here arond 250 million years ago so there would be no ghosts that are from the year 500,000,000 B.C. And just to put things into perspective, the Earth itself is about 5 and a half billion years old and the Universe itself is just over 13 and a half billion years old. I just read that today in Time magazine. I would assume that if there were a life after death that it would be a LOOONG time. Like, eternity and stuff. Unless you get born again on Earth. But I have a feeling that only certain people return. But that’s just a feeling, so who knows? There have been many documented cases of people having memories of past lives. And britz, God is all about us making our own decisions based on who we are without His assistance… So, that’s not really a reason not to believe… That’s the whole idea behind Christianity is that you make your own choices in life. You can choose not to believe, even. There is the threat of Hell, of course, but as I said in our other topic, Hell would be what you are putting yourself through in life by not doing the right things. For example, many people find it VERY comforting knowing that there is a God watching over them. It might be a little bit of a nightmare living life without that constant comfort… so that would be the Hell you would put yourself through (and to add a little “twist” to what I said earlier about my beliefs regarding Heaven and Hell [in the “time machine” topic], maybe those things continue with you after you die, what if life after death is a continuous dream based on all your thoughts, fears, and passions, what would your dream be about? comforting thoughts and such? or fear and lonliness?). And it might make you feel “tough” at times to not need Him (as you stated, you think “we make our own decisions… WITHOUT HIS ASSISTANCE”), but everyone has feelings inside that tough exterior. Don’t get me wrong, I completely respect your decision and your beliefs. I believe in God. But I know I’m not perfect, so I know I could be wrong. And I’m not trying to “convert” you or anything like that. I just wanted to make sure you are making an educated decision so it’s only fair that you hear all sides of the story before you make your final decision. And hey, I just like arguing for the sake of arguing. Just something to think about, sister. (another interesting factoid: genetic scientists have determined that EVERYBODY on Earth is at least 22nd cousins with eachother)

I do know what the afterlife is like because I have been dead before and I will be again in between lives. The time you spend in between lives varies because time does not exist in the place some people call “heaven” or “paradise”. When you no longer need to incarnate in the physical world then you stay in the afterlife forever and time becomes nothing for you. There are many people who are like me in that we remember past lives and the time spent in the afterlife in between without even needing hypnosis so I feel safe in telling you not to worry about the time you spend in the afterlife. Any amount of time spent there is wonderful and you will be grateful just to be there.

Answer #8

Hey! Can I ask you a huge favor? When you get to heaven, can you take a few bricks of that gold that’s up there and mail it to me? I will reimburse you for the shipping charges once I sell those bricks. And what’s more, I promise I will use (most of) the money to feed all the starving poor people that are here on Earth and help all the homeless people around here. If there are streets made of gold, surely God wouldn’t mind if I helped some of the people who are in agonizing pain due to starvation and disease and exposure to the elements from having to sleep outside every night, would He? Message me for my information and I’ll tell you where to send all the gold, k? Don’t worry I’ll make sure I don’t help anyone unless they say “I believe in God and accept Jesus as my Savior” that’s all that matters right? OK, so just go on one of the golden computers and log on to funadvice and I’ll be waiting for your message. Trust me, I know a LOT of people who would really appreciate it.

Answer #9

* ‘clinically dead’ is NOT the same thing as DEATH.

I totally agree, I’ve been clinically dead. . . . Can’t remember none of it. . . But I was only 6 months old at the time. Eternity is a span of time that we cannot truly comprehend.

Answer #10

heaven is like earth, but a lot better. no sin is there, all the streets are made of pure gold

Wow… that’s a very superficial and kindergarten visual… You need to study…

Answer #11

Now, is this going to become an argument thread? I agree with captainassassin, that is pretty superficial. No offence. But, if thats your idea of heaven, then so be it. Britz.

Answer #12

I don’t have a clue when anyones going to die. heaven is like earth, but a lot better. no sin is there, all the streets are made of pure gold I don’t think anyone can answer when anyone will die

Answer #13

By the way, I do not believe in God, as I believe we make our own decisions basewd on who we are, and without the aid of that supposed great hand above us. I also don’t believe we were created by Him. (I am using capitals out of respect for those who do believe.)

Answer #14

you either go to heaven or hell. to get to heaven you need to ask god to become your saviour if you don’t, its clear you’ll be going to hell

so you have 2 choices. either say yes, I believe in god and your name will be written in the book of life or say no I reject, and you’ll face hellish conciquenses wich in the future isn’t very bright… if you have any questions about christianity and that I’d be happy to try and help =) xXx

Answer #15

I do not think there is any worry of me dabbling, as you so say, in witchcraft, because I don’t think witches are ‘cool’ enough to become one. I know many religions can be cruel, and I know that if one person does something in one religion, doesn’t mean that the whole religion is bad. I know that believing in God gives you peace of mind, but it also seems… dependable. I mean no offence to the people who do, I just want to be dependant fully on myself, well, that is to say, no spiritual guidance. That is another reason I will not dabble in the arts of magic. It involves spiritual beings, which I see as a connection to God. Who, coming back to this point, I do not want to depend upon. I see your points, and I have seen them previously, but again, you have made them clearer. Thankyou, Britz.

Answer #16

I don’t know. Many Christians believe that God helps you make your decisions, at least, most of the Christians I have met. But Christianity isn’t the only religion, and if I was forced to choose a specific religion, I would most likely choose either Hinduism, or Buddism as they are both peace loving religions (generally). I am not saying that Christianity or any other religion isn’t, but in the past, have Christians not burned witches? Or people supposed to be witches? I find that wrong. I, personally, love the idea of witches. I know this was in the past, but it could happen again, easily, by people who are still following these strict old beliefs. I will stick with my opinion, but thankyou for helping me see the other opinions in effect. Thankyou, Brittany.

Answer #17

I’ve actully heard from my and my familys religion based beliefs, that jesus will be back for those who died and deserved to accompany him back to heaven, and that until it does happen, those who are dead , it would only seem like a blink of an eye, almost like your sleeping, and waking up, I personally do believe that something does happen after death I cant imagine just laying there for all of eternity in nothing but blackness

Answer #18

This depends on your religion, as in some religions there is no afterlife. If you believe in the afterlife, it can also vary, as you might have a different belief to others in your religion or of the same group of beliefs. I, in a earlier question, stated that I was an atheist, but now I realize I’m an agnostic. I believe that you go to heaven, stay there for a short period of time (Well, for heaven, say 100 years), then get reassigned a new life, like in futurama, you get reassigned a new job. But, humans weren’t around at 500’000’000 BC, that was dinosaurs. So which do you mean?

Answer #19

According to the Bible, eternity is forever…Hope this helps !!

Answer #20

Nobody knows… nobody’s ever been dead before.

And before anyone brings it up… ‘clinically dead’ is NOT the same thing as DEATH.

Answer #27
