Personally, I don’t believe he came back at all, or was even ever here in the first place.

That said, the New Testament supports both the idea of bodily resurrection (the empty tomb) as well as the idea of spiritual resurrection (the Damascus road and other similar apparition appearances) - so Christians are split on this (though most accept bodily resurrection…most are also Catholic).

Amblessed, do you think that it is a good thing that the majority of the people alive on this planet today are going to be cast into hell because they have not accepted jesus into their lives? Is that really what you want people to believe about your loving god?

Yes, Jesus came back in a physical form. That’s why his body isn’t here because his physical BODY went to heaven like ours will once the ressurection happens.

Silverwings, sometime you can be very arrogant. That dividing line exists outside of christianity, not within it. Christians represent a minority in this world. The world does not revolve around christianity.

The story of Jesus (and that is all it is, a story) claims his physical body was risen. Thomas doubted he was seeing jesus, and jesus told him to put his fingers through the holes in his hands, and put his arm in his side where he was peirced. Ewww… A rather gruesome image if you ask me. I mean, he was able to rise from the dead, but couldn’t close up his wounds?

The story of jesus is just recycled pagan stories. All of it, the virgin birth, babtism, the resurection, the god eating rituals, all pagan stories that predated the time of christ. The fact that anyone actually believes that the christ story is original is due to great marketing started by constantine in the 4th century. As PT Barnum said, there is a sucker born everyday.

uhh. I think the christians believed he came back in human for. He appeared back from the dead in a cave or something and an angel saw him and now we have easter. ahaha I’m not quite sure of the whole story, but he can back in human form, though if that’s what you’re asking :]

When He arose from the tomb, Jesus appeared in the physical outside of it - here Mary looks into the tomb:

John 20:12 And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

John 20:13 And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

John 20:14 >>> And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, >> came Jesus and stood in the midst, <<< and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

John 20:20 And when he had so said, he showed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.

John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
