isnt having a hysterectomy supposed to stop endometriosis?

ok real long story short, I had a hysterectomy about 15 months ago due to alot of problems with my endometriosis, well I went to my OB doc today and asked him, like I have been for the past 15 months why am I still having problems, so is the surgery supposed to make it so you have no more issues or can it still persist in hurting like it does? Just wondering because it seems like he would hVe said something before now

Answer #1

I don’t think any of us can answer your question as effectively as a doctor can. You should really ask your doctor and tell him about the issues you’re having.

Answer #2

I have, and have mentioned something every month for 15 months saying im still having pains and such, it just seems like he would have come up with this conclusion before now, im thinking of getting a second opinion

Answer #3

Considering that a hysterectomy is a procedure done to remove the uterus, and endometriosis is an affliction of the uterus, it stands to reason that no uterus = no endometriosis.

I can’t help but figure that your pain is associated with something other than endometriosis … maybe you need to approach this in a different direction with your doctor and instead of assuming it’s related to endometriosis, point out that it could be something completely unrelated.

I’m beginning to think that to and will bring it up when I see him again tomorrow and thanks
