Isn't there a whole lot more to being saved than just believing?

Isn’t there a whole lot more to being saved than just believing? I supposedly got saved 17 years ago. People told me that salvation was a free gift. They said that all you had to do was believe that Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and died on the cross to save you from your sins. They said if you accept him into you heart by asking him to forgive you, then you’ll go to heaven when you die. All good and well, but I was also told tjhat you had to do his will, and endure to the end to be saved. I have since stopped going to church and serving God. And now they warn, if you don’t repent, you’ll be lost again. What’s up with that? Isn’t a free gift a free gift? Why does lordship have anything to do with it?

The words that are written in the bible, that say, “Depart from me, ye who work iniquity, I never knew you”.speak volumns.

In bible terminology, to know someone, means to become intimate with them, and in order to do this, you have to learn about the other person, and in order to walk out that intimacy, you have to be in one accord with the other person.

If someone “mouths the words,” that are required of them, but, does not agree with this in their heart and mind, they are only empty words.

Those people, will go their own way, and do their own thing, while their heart will be far from the things of the Lord.

We will be judged according to the condition of our hearts.

One enters into salvation, when they come to the place where they realize what sin is, and that they are guilty of sin, then, and only then can they truly be saved.

Repentance is required also, and this means a turning away from sin.

Learning how to avoid it, to actually run from it at times.

This comes from the power of the Holy Spirit living within.

Without the Holy Spirit, one rationalizes his actions, making excuses for them, and never seeing his need of a Savior.

The bible also says that we cannot even come to God, unless the Holy Spirit draws us.

When you start drawing toward the things of God, you can be assured that the Holy Spirit is working in your life to bring you into the kingdom.

It is my belief that there is a time, in everyones life, when God draws them.

It is up to them, to accept or reject his offer.

He has made the way plain and provided the instructions & the sacrifice, he leaves the rest up to us.

We will be judged according to our deeds if we die before he draws us to himself.

Others, that have been called, will be judged according to whether or not they accepted the call and whether or not they were faithful to it.

Jesus paid the price for our sin, but, that does not mean we are allowed to do as we please, without expecting consequences.

We all had an authority figure in our lives, growing up. The job of that person was to love us, and to teach us and train us in preparation for our earthly life.

The purpose of God is to teach us and train us, to live with him, forever.

You wont be lost ok, people need to find their OWN paths not be guided by some “all powerful” being, god is a lie, infact all religion is a lie, they just endoctranate people so they can make money out of them and the church has been doing this for hundreds and hundreds of years. They are warning you that you will be lost again because they want you to go back to church! You know like if you cancel a subscription to cable? or change internet connections? that company will call you and try and sweeten the deal so you will stay its the exact same thing, the church is an incredibly manipulative organisation. I realise this was a controversial post but seriously you have to live your own life how YOU want to, if you dont then it is a wasted life. What if (as I believe) all religion is wrong, you die. thats it, no second chance to do things the way you want, no nothing. I think that salvation. REAL salvation is in yourself and only you can know what you need to make yourself complete. christ I get philosophical at 2:48 in the morning.

*This fits into there immoral lifestyle. Oh, ill believe in christ so I can go to heaven when I die, then carry on living what terrible way they do.

WRONG!

You must repent and live a good life, all is judged according to his works.*

One of the biggest mistakes all religious people make is that they think you have to believe in their God and worship THEIR way in order to live a good life.

News Flash! You don’t have to be religious to have values and morals.
