Is weed bad?

I like it. Should I stop?

Answer #1

Studies have found that if you smoke pot excessively, the amount of deposit on your lungs is double or triple that of cigarettes.

Have you ever listened to a smoker’s cough? Ok, now listen to a pot smoker’s cough. There is no difference, just as bad.

Answer #2

rofl some of these comments are ridiculous I strictly just smoke pot, no cigarettes at all except for second hand but thats hard to get away from, on top of it I have asthma and I dont have a cough like cigarette smokers do doesnt have any long term effects either, the smoke itself is whats harmful but there vaporizers you can to purify the smoke or you can consume it when baked with food it helps regulate everything in your body theres so much misleading information out there, I think you should be doing research instead of asking people what they think

These are some of the comments I have copied from a forum

-pharmaceuticals are known to kill more people than illegal drugs

-marijuana is the number 1 cash crop in the world it serves as a natural medicine and has many other uses thats why they prohibited it so big companies can make more profit thanks to “bad journalism”

-can also help aids patients, aids diminishes appetite have them smoke a joint and they regain their appetite counteracting the illness

-no one can die from smoking cannabis and has been no known deaths compared to everything else including alcohol, tobacco, etc..

I myself have asthma and smoking opens up my airways making it easier to breathe with no side effects when medically legalized in my state I look foward to becoming a patient for prescription marijuana. 12 states have already legalized it along with other countries in the world and more following my job is to educate people that are not aware of the plants uses

-I did most of my research through websites, books, magazines, and the news high times magazine etc..

  • theres more to it than just getting high and I believe legalizing it would make this a better world to live in

-God bless the whole crop!

  • and for people that dont smoke, you dont need to smoke it to support it

-all the better reason for the government to legalize.. couple reasons why it should be legalized: -will be removed from black market and stop empowering gang members -medical reasons -would be sold like alcohol, remember alcohol was once prohibited too (in stores away from children, have to be 21+) -would be a law that you cant drive while intoxicated on weed -prison population would lower (prisons are overcrowding with nonviolent offenders) -keep patients from being convicted -would provide millions of jobs for people -would make us an independent country (fuel, etc.., debt free america)

people with an addiction (including hard drugs) shouldnt be thrown in jail, they need help theres more people in jail with mental illnesses than there are in mental institutions

the list goes on

  • the War on Drugs is a failure, its a war on its own people. policies need to be changed we pay billions in taxpayers money to keep the war going and neither side is winning thats just a waste of our tax money I wonder what they do with all that money.. those greedy bastards just sell drugs back onto the street, you can even check urself on that there was a time when there was a cia operation transporting drugs overseas into america the government also provided Rick Ross with plenty of heroin to go around, course making money from it

the truth must be exposed, theyre dirty work must stop!

-Of course we can do something about it, we all just need to unite screw the federal government remember slavery? if no one stood up im pretty sure it would still be going on people were tortured, beaten, killed and thrown in jail but that didnt stop them standing up for their rights eventually slavery was abolished same with alcohol prohibition eventually became re-legalized

  • its like theres some kind of conspiracy going on I sense the government is up to no good and trying to control us. credit cards, money, and now they have chips that can be implanted in skin for uselful reasons but if in the wrong hands well were pretty much fuct they hiding the truth from us its dangerous to be right when the government is wrong they got theyre privacy but we dont. they want to know everything were doing on our leisure time

get up stand up!

  • marijuanas not anti-establishment because its illegal, its illegal because its anti-establishment

all facts stated have been double-checked and confirmed what more info? lets all make this a better place to live in!

Dear bublondee,

Marijuana smokers are prey to chest colds, bronchitis, emphysema, and bronchial asthma. Persistent use will damage lungs and airways and raise the risk of cancer. There is just as much exposure to cancer-causing chemicals from smoking one marijuana joint as smoking five tobacco cigarettes. And there is evidence that marijuana may limit the ability of the immune system to fight infection and disease.

Marijuana also affects hormones. Regular use can delay the onset of puberty in young men and reduce sperm production. For women, regular use may disrupt normal monthly menstrual cycles and inhibit ovulation. When pregnant women use marijuana, they run the risk of having smaller babies with lower birth weights, who are more likely than other babies to develop health problems. Some studies have also found indications of developmental delays in children exposed to marijuana before birth. Sue…good luck

I agree with baseballman4life: makes me feel so much better when I’m a little sick (cause I haven’t been full on sick, gotta stay home sick, in a LOOONG time). I blaze, go to bed and feel well rested the next morning not sick at all (in a little bit of a haze, but that wears off, lol)

And in regard to rockingrl728… it depends on who you are. I’ve stopped for months at a time and had no desire to go back to it… I just do it because it’s cool. JUST KIDDING… I do it as a social thing, same as when I drink (which is like never). It makes me feel good, relaxed and I enjoy life more especially after a stressed week of school (my last final for my semester is tomorrow and then I plan on blazing for the better part of this winter break, bi-otches!

I also don’t feel that it’s a gateway drug… people are entitled to their opinions. I have never had a desire to do harder drugs. Only drug I’ve wanted to try besides marijuana is shrooms, and not because I do marijuana, but because I heard about how you feel and I’d like to experience that feeling at least ONCE in my life. Other than that, I plan on sticking with the bud, enjoying life until it comes time for the real world, family and kids.

Marijuana can be both emotionally and mentally addictive. Once an individual becomes addicted to marijuana it develops into part of who they believe themselves to be. Avoiding their friends who do not use, the addict will gravitate to others that do. Marijuana is a topic that is always on their mind, whether it be thinking about the next time they will be able to get high or where their going to get their next sack. When someone is addicted to marijuana eventually their friends and the people close to them only know how they act when their stoned because they no longer do anything without first smoking. Their constant abuse is due to the misconception that marijuana is what they need to solve their problems. Sometimes addicts will take their stash with them wherever they go, just in case an opportunity arises and they are able to take a couple hits. They may even go through several dealers in order to make sure they always have a constant supply of marijuana - For assistance Call 1-800-405-8409:

Its not good for you, thhose that answer and say it is are probably weed smokers so they are biased… I have smoked it in the past. Led me on to other drugs. Ruined my life. Weed is a mind altering substance, plus it affects your lungs. The only person who can stop you smoking it is yourself. Try,your life is so much more valuable than living in a state of dopeyness.

No doubt someone will kick me for saying all of that, but walk a mile in my shoes and then tell me I’m wrong.

Answer #10

I can’t attest to the status of marijuana and medical benefits–I understand that current studies are being done to determine benefits and risk-factors. Ultimately, those studies are very limited, to people with certain illness. The drug is illegal–and for a reason. I can’t argue whether or not it should be, but history and statistics show as to the results of short-term and long-term uses of the drugs. -S

Answer #11

Listen. DO NOT smoke anything. Your just ruining your life. I have also read another one of your questions about you cutting yourself. You just keep hurting your body for fun and it is not fun. Your life is going to be over soon and how old are you? 14? Well.. only living for 14 years is not enough time. Do you want kids? If you do have kids do you want them to have about 10 years knocked off their life for having second-hand smoke? And what kind of example are you setting for your younger brothers/sisters (if you have any) or younger cousins? If they see you doing that then they are going to want to. Smoking weed is HORRIBLE!! Same with cutting yourself. I don’t know why you would want to do that to your body so please stop before its to late!

Answer #12

Yeh, you should stop and give it all to me… I’m kidding. If you use blunt wraps, I wouldn’t b/c those have nicotine (can’t spell) inside the wraps and thats the part that gives you cancer. But, if you have natural, home grown pot, with a bong/ gas mask, its not going to harm you. The very first time I smoked I had a seizure, b/c I smoked too much for my body to handle b/c I wasn’t use to it. God said too much of anything can hurt you. Look at the girl that died from drinking too much water in Georgia. I dont know what you think about God, or what your beliefs are, but , I believe very strongly in him. And, he never wanted sickness,’ diseases, or any other harmful thing coming in to the world he made. Since pot has been around since the begining, and that he made it, why would he want to harm you with an herb he made?? Now plants like poison ivy are not herbs, I would never try smoking them.

Answer #17

I personally think it should be legalized, but in answer to your question- as long as you can do it without it interfering with your life, I dont see why not. The only problem is that it’s pretty much impossible to start smoking without becoming saturated in the alternati lifestyle. My opinion is to keep the pot-head mentality but try not to smoke every day.

Answer #18

its been my experience that you can only stop if you actually WANT to stop. and it doesnt sound like you want to. so dont. but dont let it interfere with youre personal life. its non addictive so you can really stop any time you want. but youhave to want to first. and who really wants to? not me.

Answer #19

Answer #21

do what ever makes you happy your going to die anyway why not enjoy life while your can but you really should use a vaporizer and if you cant get one use a bong

Answer #22

Risk-taking behavior and injury are especially common during adolescence and young adulthood. Drug use contributes to injuries among adolescents and young adults because it has negative effects on perception, judgment, and reaction time. A young person under the influence of drugs also has less respect for the welfare of self and others.

Answer #23

Makes me think about the tv commercial where the younger brother says ‘my older brother never does anything wrong - but that’s the problem, ‘he’s never done anything’ - he goes down to the basement where you see his older brother laid back on a couch with the room full of smoke from weed - ‘Here’s your wallet - (obviously out of it) the older brother says ‘Huhhh’ ??
