is there any way that I will be able to move out?

I am 15 years old and I was wondering if there is any way that I can legally move out of my house(my mom and dad are devorced and my mom has soul custody of me and my brother).I have tried several times to leave and my parent refuses to let me go. I have several places to go mostly with family, I really feel that my living situation would be a lot better if I was not living with my parent.I will be turning 16 in a few months. Is it true that I can legally move out at the age of 16? Is there anything that I can do to be able to move out of my house? Is there anyway that my parent can make me stay? How do I come about this situation?

Well moving out at 16 comes with alot of responsibilities. If you move in with family, you will have to also be responsible and follow their rules at their homes as well. Sixteen is a really tough age, however not knowing your situation regarding why the need to move. Don’t assume that people will take you in for nothing. At some point you will have to take responsibily for paying your way. or at least be responsible for things. That is something that needs to be discussed before you plan on moving out. I would suggest you do get a job and continue with school. A high school diploma is very important, and if you can continue your education all the better.

Our law’s regarding child support and custodial parents are different than the United States. The law states a sixteen year old can move out on their own if they choose to. However you will be entering completely different world than what your used to.

Keep this in mind right now things seem really bad and maybe all you need is a break for a bit and stay with family and hopefully you will be able to work things out with your parents and a solution is there.

Good Luck
