Is our cat okay?

Today our cat was sitting at my roommate’s door meowing very oddly. Shortly afterwards he started making gagging noises like he was going to vomit. We carefully moved him into the bathroom, so if he did vomit it’d be easier to clean it up. He then stopped and attempted to walk into the livingroom, but wasn’t walking straight. Sort of like he was drunk, and then he collapsed. He was laying on the floor for a few minutes drooling and even pooped. He then got up and has been fine every since. We aren’t sure what caused it, but earlier he was eating some cat grass that’s dying. My roommate thinks that’s what caused it. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Answer #1

if your cats was walking around like they are dizzy then make sure no one cut off their wiskers that keeps them balanced and did you spay your cat???

Answer #2

Sounds like a seizure to me, also…tho the gagging sound is strange…but maybe not unheard of. You’ll need meds if it wass a seizure, to control them in the future.

That sounds like a mild seizure to me… My dog has them- she walks weird, falls over, makes a weird noise with her throat, vomits, defacates and urinates, and then is fairly OK afterwards. I would definitely at least CALL his vet…

Answer #4

I would definatly bring your cat in to you vet and get him checked out. The fact that he was paralyzed at one point and lost control of his bowels could be a sign of something serious, such as siezures.

Answer #5

Cats eat grass so it can clean out their stomach. Dogs do too. If you ever see them eating grass, don’t make them stop eating it unless it is manky or has weed kill on it or any chemicals.

They eat grass, then be sick. It’s a natural thing for them to do. :)

I know this is a very late reply.
