Is my brother doing the right thing?

My brother is taking me to a doctor, becuase my eating habbits have been getting kinda bad like 200 calories a day. I got really upset at him, is he doing the right thing even though it’s MY life and nothing is really catching up with me. my parents are gone** and he said he wouldnt tell anyone but I rally dont want to go…=[..is Ryan doing the right thing?

Answer #1

I think that your brother is doing the right thing, the responsible thing actually. I understand why you’re angry with him, but 200 calories a day is very unhealthy for you. It’s way below the daily recommended amount. Ryan is just looking out for your wellbeing.

I do hope that everything gets sorted out. Good luck.

you need help sweetie. Anorexia is a disease and besides death, (which is pretty severe wouldnt you say?) can cause all kinds of long term health problems. Even if you recover in a year, if you are under 18, you are screwing your growth, (breasts, thyroid, etc.) I think it’s great that your brother is trying to help but no can can help someone who doesnt want it, so make the choice and get better.

Answer #3

You admit your eating habits are bad but you want to know if him getting help is wrong? If you know they’re bad then why should it be wrong for him to get you help?

Answer #4

Actually it depends:

I used to go for days without food, not to stay skinny, in fact I was actually overweight do to having no metabolism. My reason for it is money was short, we really couldn’t afford much food, if I was lucky one small meal a day. Thankfully I finally got out of that habit of not needing food, and I feel great, 10x better, more active and healthy!

But if its just to try and lose weight, aka Anorexia then yes its a good thing he’s doing it.

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!
