Is ignorance really best?

After a while of tip-toeing around the issue, I finally broke down and asked “what are we?”, which was painful enough just asking. But then I had to await a response, and live through the next day, and the next. Sometimes I wonder if ignorance really is bliss. But by not asking my mind stayed tortured, always wondering. Now having asked, my heart lies flayed open, mourning, and I already feel the doors closing before anything beautiful has a chance to happen.
By knowing where we stand, I now have just that much more room to be slaughtered.

No… because this way whatever it is can end… E.g. if you break up, then yes it is painful but at least that allows the chance of new happiness… not that I have any idea what you’re talking about…

Answer #2

The truth is often painful, but it is a pain that you can deal with because you understand.

It is when you don’t understand that you fail to ease the pain.
