Dwyfach, sagarmatha, isis, mina, jupiter, shiva, allah, zeus, miyolangsangma, jesus of nazareth, rongo, wandjina, cai chen, sarpanitum, khan bhogda, daikoku, thor, hiiakawawahilani, jhvh, inti huayna capac, eeyeekaldu and al-lat are a small and random selection of respected gods that have been worshipped in sincere and elaborate manners by large groups of faithful people.

It is claimed that most of these gods are active today. They often take a pivotal place in people's life.

Most of these gods (like shiva or daikoku) are members of crowded pantheons full of powerful deities who are all individually worshipped. Others are assisted by myriads of demigods (like catholic saints). I left all these out (including satan), to keep the list short. For that reason I also ignored denominations.

I would be grateful if you could answer the following question: Why should one not believe in the factual existence of any of these gods?
