What would be a good intoduction speech before a powerpoint about hunting safety?

I answered your other question and it interested me enough to wonder if your presentation is for hunting safety or if you are opposed to hunting.

I am a pro gun person. Not a crazy, don’t wave it around and think everyone ought to own one. If you are comfortable with a gun you are and if you aren’t you aren’t. But if you have to give a speech to the people in the opposite camp–well, you’ve got open with a line that makes them sit up and listen.

It’s easier than you think. You just write down all of the negative stuff you think they will say and then peruse it for clues to your intro.

Example: I am the opposition. I am 40 years old and my kid got his left ear shot off from trying to look down the barrel of his grandpa’s shotgun. I want guns banned. You are raised in a duck hunting family and have had duck for Christmas every year of your life. Your presentation starts with– Human beings once hunted with sticks and spears. Whoever invented the gun probably gave many mothers a better night sleep. Can you imagine how hard it was on a mother to know that her sons had to chase and trap wild game, half naked with little more than a sharp stick?

I think you see where I’m going with that. You are a kid. Kids have awesome imaginations.
