Inner ear itch

About a week ago I noticed a slight itch in my ear, not reachable with a q-tip, it was annoying at times, but definitely bearable. But now it’s in both sides, and it is driving my nuts, I mean I can’t reach the itch, and I have tried peroxide, which didn’t help at all. Now my right ear is really sore on the outside from me trying to get relief by rubbing. What should I do, I can’t take it anymore???!!!

Please help me, I can’t sleep!!!

Go to your doctor. Maybe you just need a good ol’ flush out of the stuff trapped in your ears.

I would question age before I would say ear infection as typically: only children get ear infections unless you are a smoker, at which point you would again be a potential candidate.

There are drops in the Pharmacy aisle that are OTC made for you ears. You can ask your pharmacist or simply look around - I would look for Debrox (the most common).

Earwax can trap bacteria in your ear which can lead to itching and eventually infection. However in older people its generally uncommon to see an actual infection unless they are a smoker as I mentioned before.

The Debrox will just take a couple drops in each ear and will naturally dissolve the wax. Some ears tend to produce more earwax than others (no one knows why)… and by the sounds of it you may have irritated the external portion of your ear. I would recommend a warm compress for that just to prevent inflammation.

the most likely problem is that youve had a cold or youve sneezed and knocked your eardrum askew. I have problems with my ears and have the same problem. the itchyness will probably be ure eardrum moving back. maybe if you have perferated it it could be fixing. if you get a grippy clip and use that and move in circles down your ear very carefully that should work. you no if your going to far if you cough or feel a pain, good luck x

Have you been eating anything out of the ordinary. I get those annoying inner ear itchy’s and turns out I had food allergies. Out of no where I had food allergies. I get an itching deeep in my ears a tickling in my throat and my sinuses will sometimes swell some. You definately want to stop diggin in it though cause you could mess around and end up with some kind of infection. If it gets too unbearable get to a doctor and see what he sees.

Answer #6

My ears do that when my sinuses are draining or when my allergies are acting up.

Answer #7

I have the same problem. Only mine acts up when I am trying to go to sleep and right after I wake up in the morning. (Kinda feels like there’s something in there). Anyway I found that using the end of a bobby pin (the curves side) gets most wax out of your ears, and scratches it too!

Answer #8

likely its’ infected. get yourself to a hospital and get some antibiotics
