Industrial bar(jewelry)

Ok I just got my industrial bar piercing but I was looking on the net for a bar because the piercer I went to use two short barbells instead of one long one…but I noticed there are different lengths like 1 1/2 to 2 inches…how can I know which one will fit properly in my ear without putting strain on it?

id’ go into the piercing shop and ask which size would be best for you to get.

Answer #2

Go for the longer one while you heal. It will put zero strain and makes cleaning easier. You may opt for a shorter one when you have healed, but it really doesn’t matter, I’ve kept my long one in ever since I got the piercing.

I just have to say though, that it’s not ideal to not have the long bar put in immediately after you got the piercing. You should have waited for the piercer to order one in if he didn’t have one in stock. The reason for this being that your two holes may heal in different directions while you get a long bar, so when you do get to putting the long bar in, it may cause some tissue damage due to some migration. Depending on how your body reacts, that could lead to some minor scars or more noticeable keloid formation.
