Why is my Implanon giving me severe mood swings and terrible period pain when it's not my time of the month?

Around a month ago, my mother forced me to get an Implanon because she doesnt believe that i am haveing safe sex. But ever since i had it put it i have been getting terrible mood swings and really bad period pain… even when its not my time of the month. I kind of let these symptoms be for a little while as i thought they would go away as the Implanon adjusted to my body, but they havent :/

I had Mirena iud inserted a little over a month ago myself. Mood swings and cramping are commen side effects of the implanon. It generally takes 3 months for your body to adjust to this type of birth control. You can either wait it out or call your doctor. The only side effects ive noticed currently are spotting and acne (yay), but im waiting the 3 months to see if my body will adjust to it.
