Im a teenager and I want to have fun. Parents hold me back
Im 14 years old and I want to go out and have fun in life. Be with my mates and have a good time. My parents in my opinion hold me back, I get good enough grades, im nearly 15, and im doing my GCSE’s. They are putting way too much pressure on me, and I just dont know what to do. I asked them if I can go out with my friends and they said no because its too late. I asked them why.. they said its because we care about you it was 6:35 at night?!? To me its overprotecting?
What do I do :S Help me :(
My parents were more willing to bend for me after a good talk. Tell them that you understand their concerns. You understand that they love you and you understand you’re only 14 (you have to say that one) but you’ve proven yourself to be a very responsible 14-year old. Tell them to not punish you for the stupidity of your peers but to treat you as the smart individual that they’ve raised. You have to speak as if you understand their point of view. Tell them that one day you’ll have to be independent, why not start teaching you now. The point is to EARN their trust. After you’ve earn their trust, keep up with it (don’t get caught doing anything bad) and sooner or later, they will step aside to let you grow up.
Please listen carefully. Your parents have every right to be concern. This society is so corrupted. Kids are having kids, kids are doing drugs, smoking, quiting school, drinking, having sex, gangs, ect… All of these things can lead to you being scarred for the rest of your life. This is what I’ve learned as an adult: Nearly EVERYTHING my parents said, is RIGHT. Keep that one in mind and you shall be ok in life. At 14, you won’t understand your parents. You still have so much growing to do. You’ll have plenty of time to have fun. Just make the right decisions.
well tell them school is stress ful and you need some thing fun to do I have the sam problem but when I’m older I’ll make up for all the fun I didn’t have bye going on female heart breaking binge lol
What’s your idea of fun? Sorry, it’s a necessary question…
