Are iced tea and sweet tea different?
What is the difference between iced tea and sweet tea? My friend Brandon and I are fighting cause I say Iced tea an he says sweet tea… but I’ve never had ‘sweet tea’ I live in the noth he lives in the south.
Thanks for all who answered nicey. I am in the North Maine, to be exact. I know we have things you might of never heard of like woopie pies and moxie. So Keirstinkate don’t freak out at me. It’s not the common to hear about sweet tea in maine the first time I heard it was the other day and it was from a southern person.
I visited maine in june from missouri where I live on sweet tea I visited for a week I thought I would die before I got home to get me some sweet tea and your right I had never heard of a whoopie pie till I visited and they are great I even bought a recipe book while I was there so I could make them at home.
sweet tea is when you add the sugar right after the tea is finished brewing (while it is hot) so the sugar completely dissolves, then you chill it. sweetened ice tea is when you add the sugar when the tea has already cooled. the sugar never completely dissovles and doesn’t taste the same. so keirstinkate you can eat one!
sweet tea is the best. I live in the south and recently when I visited california, I asked for sweet tea in a restaurant. the server looked surprised, she was from the south and went and made some for me. she had a glass also. sweet tea is when you add the sugar right after the tea is finished brewing (while it is hot) so the sugar completely dissolves, then you chill it. sweetened ice tea is when you add the sugar when the tea has already cooled. the sugar never completely dissovles and doesn’t taste the same.
Keirstinkate: chill out, seriously. Just cause you might know something doesn’t mean the whole world has to know it too. If you thought the question was so ‘stupid’ then why didn’t you answer it properly?
Okay well, iced tea is usually not served with sugar in it. You might notice if you’ve ever gone to a restaurant and ordered iced tea; that sometimes it won’t be sweetened. You’ll have to asked for ‘sweetened iced tea.’ Sweetened iced tea is the same thing as sweet tea, except people in the south call it sweet tea.
My experience: if I tell the waitress ‘I’d like an iced tea’ she will respond ‘you want sweet or unsweet ?’.
oh my f’ing god, you cant be serious you stupid mother sucker! iced tea, sweet tea…LOOK AT THE WORD BEFORE TEA. HOLY CRAP.
