All you have to do to be a successful author is write a book that everyone wants to read.

This is infinitely harder than you think.

dont underestimate the importance of education. you might be a better writer when you know more about it. There are plenty of educations which lend themselves perfectly for that.

there are educations where you learn how to write, you dont NEED to have those. if people read your stories and like it, then, by many aspects, you are an author.

but if I go to classes to be a better writer it wouldnt hurt

All you have to do to be an author is write. Write as much as you can, as often as you can. If a few people enjoy it, publish it so others can read it too. All you can do is try. There’s no proven way to become a successful author.
