Do you need an author's permission to mention their book in yours?

Yeah, that probably isn’t very clear. Hope this will help. I’m writing a story right now. And just maybe if I think it comes out worthy, I may think of publishing it. Anyways, in my story, I had this idea of making fun of the Twilight series( I don’t have anything against it.) I just want to reference towards it. I’m not going to use characters or the plot or anything. Not copying at all. I just want to know if I’d need permission to mention her book in my story.

If your manuscript contains a copied or closely-paraphrased quote that is at least 250 words from a full length work, any lines from a song or poetry, or 10% of a letter, diary, or other unpublished work, then you must obtain written permission from the author. If you’re simply referencing it, then no, it’s not necessary.
