Can I move out of my Mom's house?

Can I move out of my moms house? I’m 17 and live in New York. I did some research and some places say yes while others say no. PLEASE HELP.

Well, why do you want to leave? If it is due to abuse then call the local CPS or the police. If it is due to your mom and you not getting along then I would just try to get over it. I left home at 17, thought I knew it all, I did ok I guess but I ended up going through some crap that I still think about and trusting all the WRONG people. I would like to think that you and your mom love each other so try and focus on that when or if she gets on your nerves. My mom still gets on my nerves but I know that she loves me and only asserts her oppinions because she cares. Hell, use staying at home as an oppertunity to go to college and be a kid for a little while longer because, speaking from experience, being an adult and on your own is not as cool as you would think, not when your all of 17 years old. You have got the rest of your life for paying taxes and bills!

Answer #2

hun, it all depends on your conditions.

Do you have a criminal record? Are you parents “undeserving” of you? Do you have a job? How are your grades? Do you attend school everyday? Do you have a low income program where you live? Do you have someone else to live with? Why can’t you live with your dad? When do you turn 18?/ when did you turn 17? WHat is your reasoning for moving out? If nothing is wrong in your house hold, you just feel it is time you moved out, does your mom and or dad aprove? and sooo much more..
