Does anyone understand Algebra?

Anyone good with algebra? I dont understand why in terms of x! If anyone can help me that would be great.

Answer #1

Algebra is mad easy, however there CAN be a lot to remember if you don’t learn little things quickly.

X= a number with no given value, named X because of the Y=MX+B formula used for graphing a line in algebra ANY letter or symbol such as alpha, beta, or omega will do, but X is used most often because of the Y=mx+B formula where X is the horizontal axis. B is the why intercept and M is the slope.

The why intercept is where a line intersects (goes through) the vertical axis on a grid (Which is labeled Y)

M is slope which is the rise over run, easiest shown in a fraction. Rise is how much higher on the why axis a point will be from another, and run is how far across the point will be.

If you think you got it, funmail me a list of answers to this equation or ask some questions about it if you need it. Y=2/3X+2 X= any # you want… Solve for Y.

algebra is not hard but I however tend to pass the class and fail the regents but iam wondering why havent I passed my algebra regents and right now iam in breaking point because iam a senior in high school and in order to graduate I have to pass my algebra regents helppp!!!

Answer #3

im pretty good at algebra. if you have a question, ask mehhh =)

Answer #4

Hey ya I am pretty good at algebra! Fun mail me and I will see if I can help you out at all! :-)

Answer #5

its easy! if you have a problem that says 5+X=20, it just means 5 plus WHAT? equals 20. So what do you have to add to 5 in order for it to equal 20? That would be fifteen, right? You probably knew that off the top of your head but if you have a more difficult problem, like 543+ X = 1164 you still are trying to figure out what X equals. But what you can do is take the sum of 1164, and think to yourself “what is the opposite of “plus”? the answer is: minus! so what you do is take 1164 and SUBTRACT the other number you have, which is 543. So you do 1164 - 543 and work that problem out to find the answer: 621. so the way you write that answer out is X = 621. It works the same way with multiplication and division. If the problem was: 72 x Y = 360 you just do the opposite, which would be division, so you’d do 360 divided by 72 and that would tell you what why equals. In this case the answer would be Y=5. Please Funmail me if I didn’t explain it good enough or if you have any other questions or if you want to pay me money to do your assignments for you. lol just kiddin but I am willing to help out.

Algebra is very important to the rest of your life, even though it doesn’t seem so right now. In Algebra, you have to “think outside the box” and use a little imagination when it comes to solving the problems. The terms X and why and other letters only represent numbers, It could be any number such as 4, 987, or 0.64903 or a fraction. It could even be more complicated than that. The object of simple Algebra is to work backwards like we were taught when we checked our answers to addition and subtraction. Example: 4 + 4 =8; also 8 - 4 = 4. That is how you know you got the answer right, because it checks out. Well Algebra is the same, instead of numbers you get letters. Example: X-3=8; then 8+3 must equal X. You see, you want X by itself., so you add 3 to both sides of the equation. That is the basic concept of Algebra. When you get more complicated you may have more than one letter, or variable. Such as: X+Y=5, y-2=2; in this case you have to figure out both X and Y. That’s where it seems like the world will end if you are studying basic Algebra. But it gets easier the more you do it. Please respond if you need assistance on other types of problems, or you have further questions.
