I really want a dog. My mom says it has to be small, lightweight, and has to be able to stay home alone for an average school day. What breed do you suggest?
ok do not get a pomeranian!! they are the most annoying dogs! their cute but annoying!! I would suggest a maltese because I have a maltese they are small lightwieght not annoying they still need love and attention tho they can also stay home alone for long periods of time and they are very smart pretty lap dogs!! they are awesome dogs to have! im surprised more people dont have them!!
A Bichon Frise might also be a good dog too,but youll have to cut their fur about every 6 weeks,otherwise they turn into a walking barking cottonball.dachsunds are great dogs too but their full of energy so they might tear stuff up.Just do your research on some small breeds and then pick one.A mutt would probably be your best bet.
You need a dog that will be ok on its own in the day. lol
Consider maybe a maltese. they are normally dogs that can be alone in the day. and whatever you do DO NOT GET A BASSET, they need other dogs to keep them out of trouble. So do bull dogs.

I would say a miniature or tcup schnauzer. They don't need a lot of exercise and are perfectly happy laying around on the couch all day. Also they are super smart and are known as the dog with a human brain.
I hae a miniature daschund (Sausage dog) and they are amazingly clever and have really lovely personalities.
